Description

Studio portrait identified left to right, Second Lieutenants Roland Parker Shelley, 2nd Bn Australian Machine Gun Corps. Killed in action 4th July 1918, aged 27 years; Arvan James Prichard (standing); Archibald Chesterman Chalmers. The inscription on verso reads: "Dear mother/ Myself and two Pals/ Lieutenant R P Shelley on my right/ " [Lieutenant] A C Chalmers left/ all having received our commissions on/ the same date, 9 February 17/ your loving son/ Arvan".
