An unidentified soldier from 6th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (6RAR), sitting and having a cigarette whilst on piquet duty behind a low parapet of timber logs. He is wearing black leather, general purpose (GP) boots with the cuffs of his trousers tucked under elastic bands. He is armed with a 7.62 mm M60 general purpose machine gun with a generous length of linked 7.62 mm ammunition.
