Informal portrait of 3996 Private (Pte) Thomas Joseph McMahon, 59th Battalion, of Northcote, Vic. Pte McMahon enlisted on 28 July 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Ceramic on 23 November 1915. He was killed in action at Fromelles, France on 19 July 1916, aged 26 years. He has no known grave and is commemorated on panel 168 at VC Corner, Australian Cemetery, France. This image is cropped from P05526.001 which is believed to be an image by the Darge Photographic Studio.
