Studio portrait of 24 Sergeant , 13th Light Horse Regiment of Camberwell, Victoria. A school teacher prior to enlisting, he embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Persic (A34) on 28 May 1915. After service on the Gallipoli Peninsula, he went with his unit to France where he died of heart failure on 2 April 1916, aged 23. He is buried in the Boeseghem Churchyard, France.
