Studio portrait of 7545 Sergeant (Sgt) Harold Ross Ramus, 25th Reinforcements, 7th Battalion, of North Carlton, Vic. Prior to enlisting in the AIF on 16 February 1917 Ramus served as with the instructional staff, Citizens Military Forces. He embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Themistocles on 4 August 1917. Sgt Ramus died of wounds on 18 April 1918, at Nieppe Wood, near Hazebrouck, France, aged 24 years.
