View of Dutch troopship HMT Nieuw Zeeland, a former passenger and cargo ship, sinking after it was torpedoed at 11.45 am by a German U-boat in the Mediterranean Sea approximately 100 miles east of Gibraltar. From a crew of approximately 300, only 21 did not survive.
