Description

Altimeter from German aircraft. No brand name but logo showing a bird with a lightning bolt underneath. The face has printed on it:

The scale from 0 to 8 is graduated so that the spaces are closer together as height rises. A knurled screw 20 mm diameter at the top allows the dial to be set with the needle at ground altitude. The instrument was attached at three points - 10, 2 and 6 o'clock. One has been broken off at 2 o'clock position. The outer casing is 131 mm diameter. It is 32 mm deep on the side and fits over the bottom bowl section and is held in place by six screws to give an overall depth of 37 mm. The bottom bowl is approximate 112 mm diameter.
