Description

Truck, Ambulance, 3/4 ton Model: four berth ambulance, Landrover Series 2A. Manufacturer: Rover with local bodywork. AMF Markings: ARN 109 645, 3 ton bridge classification sign.

The Series 2A Ambulance officially entered service in 1965 and the winch version in 1967 but in fact they had been in service before these dates. By 1968 there were 82 Series 2A Ambulances on charge. The bodies were locally built and the type was used in South Vietnam by 2 Field Ambulance at Vung Tau. This vehicle is recorded as having been bought on charge in 1963 and retains the original engine (25141758C). It was disposed of by 21 Supply Battalion on 16 December 1983.
