Army Medical Service armband
Description
White cotton drill Army Medical Service armband with an appliqued red wool flannel cross in the centre. The left side of the band is stamped in black ink 'Army Medical Service' within a circle. The band fastens around the sleeve with three mother of pearl buttons and three hand finished buttonholes. Only fragments of two of the buttons remain.
History / Summary
Associated with the Queensland Field Hospital and Bearer Unit of the Commonwealth Contingent, Army Medical Corps, which served in South Africa between March and May 1902.
