Description

Pair of Turkish Army ankle boots; the left boot is of a larger size and slightly longer than the right boot. Each boot upper is made from three pieces of leather - the toe and the ankle section. There is a rather short tongue fitted to each boot. Each is provided with thick leather soles with pile heels made from a stack of five leather strips. The forward section of each sole is fitted with a pattern of hexagonal iron hob nails, while there is a u-shaped steel or iron collar fitted around the border of the heels.

Each boot has six steel lacing eyelets through which a flat-profile lace is tied. This section is reinforced with a leather strip behind the eyelets. There is also a reinforcing band up the rear of each boot. The left boot has a replacement cotton tape pull-on, while the right boot appears to retain its original leather pull-on.
