1915 Pattern 'Adrian' steel helmet : French Infantry
Description
1915 Pattern French Army 'Adrian' pattern steel helmet, which has the flaming grenade 'RF' (Republic Francaise) badge worn by French Infantry Regiments on the front. The helmet has an overall grey finish, which is possibly repainted, since it does not match the original 'horizon blue' colour, exposed where the top coat has been worn and scratched off. There are light coloured paint smudges and tiny drips on the left rear quarter. The paint is delaminating from the badge. The helmet is complete with black leather liner and brown leather chinstrap. A spacer strip of corrugated aluminium is fitted between the liner and the shell on the left side. Similar strips are missing from the other three sides.
