Description

Carlton speaks of being twenty years old when first sent to Vietnam in 1966; his second visit in 1970; his attitude to war; the objectivity of journalists and media organisations in general; the media's effect on public opinion; censorship of reports; his depression at not being able to accurately report the war, particularly the incursion into Cambodia; his instinct for self preservation.
