Collection relating to the First World War service of brothers, Major Eric Ernest von Bibra, 54 Battalion, and Sergeant Elbert Louis von Bibra, 47 Battalion. Collection consists of one letter written by Eric to his mother from camp in Australia; two letters written by Elbert to his mother - one from Lemnos (page 2 is missing) and the other from Suez. There are also two postcards sent by Elbert - a hand made Christmas card from Gallipoli and an embroidered silk postcard from France. Also included is a map of Pozieres; a letter from John Butler, the father of a fellow soldier believed to have taken part in the same action as Elbert; and a letter from from Captain J Brack, 47 Battalion, informing Mrs von Bibra of the death of her son Elbert at Westhoek Ridge, Menin Road, 1 October 1917.
