Description
Studio portrait of 6763 Private (Pte) Percy Edwin Jorgensen, 22nd Reinforcements, 5th Battalion, of Bairnsdale, Vic. A farmer prior to enlistment on 8 September 1916, Jorgensen embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Ulysses on 25 October 1916. He died of sickness on 16 January 1917, in England, aged 25 years. His brother 3823 Pte Horace Hans Jorgensen, also served with the AIF. He was killed in action on 23 August 1918 in France.
