Other Ranks breeches : Turkish Army
Turkish Army Other Ranks coarse green cotton twill trouser-length breeches. Three buttons on the concealed fly are made of brown plastic. There is a pocket with a vertical slit opening in both hips, just in front of the leg side seam. A single steel hook-and-eye fitting helps to fasten the waistband, which is wider at the front than the back. A pair of buttons fasten the vertical opening on the side of the leg cuffs. The bottom edge of the cuffs are bound with a thin band of yellow-gold coloured cotton sateen. Across the back of the waist is an adjustment strap with a steel two-pronged black metal buckle. The lining of the adjustment strap and the fly is yellow-gold cotton sateen. The waistband is lined with cream-coloured plain weave cotton.
Probably collected by the Australian War Records Section in Palestine.
