History / Summary
7753 Private Eric Stanley Hoy was a 20 year old stockman from Sydney, NSW when he enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force on 13 July 1915. He embarked for service overseas with 1 Australian General Hospital and later transferred temporarily to 5 Field Ambulance in April 1916. A month later he joined 1 Anzac Mounted Regiment, or 13 Light Horse Regiment, as a batman. He remained with 13 LHR, serving on the Western Front until the end of the war. He embarked for return to Australia on 20 May 1919.
