Studio portrait of 6541 Private (Pte) Raymond Courtney, 19th Reinforcements, 19th Battalion, a wright of North Sydney, NSW. Pte Courtney enlisted on 1 May 1916 and embarked on HMAT Wiltshire from Sydney on 7 February 1917 for service overseas. Pte Raymond Courtney was killed in France, on 29 August 1918, aged 22 years. His older brother 3721 Pte Robert Courtney was also killed in France, in August 1916.
