Description
Studio portrait of 3879 Private (Pte) Francis William Ryan, 12th Reinforcements, 14th Battalion, of Castlemaine, Vic (originally of Govan, Glasgow, Scotland). Pte Ryan enlisted on 9 August 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Ceramic on 23 November 1915. He was killed in action on 7 December 1917 in France.
