Description
Able Seaman David 'Spud' Murphy prepares to fire a Minimi machine gun from the deck of HMAS Kanimbla during a live round firearms practice in the Khawr Abd Allah (KAA) waterway. During Operation Falconer, HMAS Kanimbla supplied command and control support to the coalition boarding parties clearing the KAA waterway, and logistics support and work platform facilities to Australian Clearance Diving Team 3 (AUSCDT3). HMAS Kanimbla operated in the Middle East as part of the Australian commitment to the Coalition forces assembled to disarm Iraq.
