Description
Studio portrait probably of 1616 Private (Pte) Herbert McGill, 12th Reinforcements, 4th Light Horse Regiment, of Belgrave, Vic, aged 32 years. Pte McGill enlisted on 24 July 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Ceramic on 23 November 1915. He was killed in action on 30 April 1918 at Villers-Bretonneux, France, whilst serving with the 14th Battalion. See also DA11955A and DA11955B.
