The 1st Australian Light Horse Brigade preparing to embark for the Gallipoli Peninsula aboard the transport ship Devanha. The Brigade fought dismounted, as the terrain was unsuitable for the use of mounted infantry. The men here are seen changing their leggings for puttees on the wharf at Alexandria.
