Description
An improvised scale for weighing-in boxers at the 22nd Battalion sports at 'Hogsback' (about 12 miles from Ismailia), Egypt. The man's weight was estimated by the number of tins of bully-beef in the bag. On the far right of the picture is Major M Mackay (killed at Pozieres); on right of bag, Lance Corporal S Gunn, and between the uprights Private (Pte) L Beggs (later awarded a Military Medal), Sergeant J Munroe and Pte L Binns (awarded Military Medal).
