Members of the First Fifteen, First Grade Rugby team at Royal Military College, Duntroon. All of these officers later served in the First World War and five of the fifteen died during the war. Identified left to right, back row: Robert William Donald (V20374, served in Australia, discharged for family reasons); William Ivan Kirke Jennings (born New Zealand (NZ), 8/912 served New Zealand Expeditionary Force (NZEF), DSO); Douglas Isaac Charles Bryan (born NZ, 10/976 served NZEF); Thomas Patrick Elliot (7th Light Horse and 60th Battalion, killed in action (KIA) 17 July 1916, Fromelles, France); William Lang (6th Light Horse, KIA 13 August 1915, Gallipoli); William Alan Beevor Steele (2nd Light Horse).
