This collection comprises three booklets which belonged to VX40389 Major James W Jacobs. They were written during his internment as a prisoner of war of the Japanese in Thanbuyuzayat, Thailand and after his release in Malaya, c 1945, during the Second World War. The collection includes three typed transcripts of the booklets, c2002. The booklets are entitled Atrocities book one, two and three, and were written to establish charges and provide evidence against the Japanese. Atrocities perpetrated upon named Dutch, Australian and British prisoners of war, coolies and civilians interned or working at POW camps in Asia were recorded to present to the War Crimes Tribunal. The evidence relates to incidents in many camps including Kamburi in Thailand, Borneo and Hintock in Japan, gathered from the accounts of POWs who survived.
