Description
Studio portrait of either: 3240 Private (Pte) Garratt Robertson, 7th Reinforcements, 21st Battalion, of Snake Valley, Vic, aged 29; or 2438 Pte Gordon Robertson, 5th Reinforcements, 24th Battalio, of Coleraine, Vic, aged 25. 3240 Pte Robertson enlisted on 27 July 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Wiltshire on 18 November 1915. He returned to Australia on 19 February 1919 as a member of the 58th Battalion. 2438 Pte Robertson enlisted on 21 July 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Osterley on 29 September 1915. He was killed in action on 5 August 1916 at Pozieres, France.
